A rare Ferrari 599 GTO, previously owned by Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay, is up for sale with just 3,000 miles on the odometer. This exclusive model, of which only 599 were produced, is expected to fetch around £650,000 ($833,787.50 USD).

The Ferrari 599 GTO, announced in 2010, was celebrated as the fastest road car ever produced by Ferrari at the time. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in under 3.35 seconds and reach speeds over 208 mph. Jay Kay, known for his disco-inspired hits in the 1990s and 2000s, purchased this vehicle a few years after its original owner. Despite owning the car for over a decade, he has driven it sparingly, contributing to its remarkably low mileage.

The car’s unique features include its Nero DS black paint with a Giallo yellow racing stripe, making it one of only two examples in this configuration. This rare combination is likely to attract significant interest from collectors worldwide. The Ferrari 599 GTO’s engine boasts an impressive 661 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm, allowing it to deliver exceptional performance.

DK Engineering, which holds the listing, highlights the car’s capabilities, noting its lap time at Ferrari’s Fiorano test circuit was one second faster than the legendary Ferrari Enzo. The 599 GTO’s design includes significant weight reduction compared to the standard GTB model, featuring improved aerodynamics and cooling systems derived from Ferrari’s track-focused models.

This Ferrari has been cherished by Jay Kay, but it comes with a caveat. According to Jeremy Clarkson’s review for Top Gear in 2011, Ferrari mechanics advised that the car is nearly impossible to drive in rainy conditions. Despite this, its rarity and connection to a famous owner add to its allure.
