A rare Porsche 911 S/T has raised $1 million at auction, with proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross and its ongoing disaster relief efforts, including aid for victims of the California wildfires and Southeastern floods.

Porsche Cars North America, headquartered in Atlanta, donated the limited-edition sports car for the charity auction. The model, a 60th-anniversary edition 911 S/T, is one of just 1,963 units produced, commemorating the launch of the iconic 911 line in 1963. The auction was conducted by RM Sotheby’s, with the winning bidder choosing to remain anonymous.
“On behalf of everyone at PCNA, we are truly grateful to the winning bidder for their generosity,” said Timo Resch, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, in a statement. “Their bid will make a meaningful difference to the outstanding work of the American Red Cross.”
The auctioned vehicle, chassis number 1,919 out of the 1,963 built, came from Porsche’s internal fleet. With its lightweight construction and high-performance 518-horsepower flat-six engine, the 911 S/T blends the agility of the GT3 RS with a traditional six-speed manual transmission, making it one of the most sought-after Porsche models among collectors.
Many companies and nonprofits in Atlanta have stepped up to support disaster relief efforts, including Delta Air Lines, Home Depot, and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. The auction proceeds will aid the Red Cross in providing shelter, food, and emergency assistance to those affected by recent natural disasters.
With the sale, Porsche joins a growing list of automakers using their high-performance models to drive charitable giving, reinforcing the intersection of automotive passion and philanthropy.
