Refurbished 1966 Corvette Convertible Heads to Auction with No Reserve on Bring a Trailer

A striking 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible, boasting a meticulous refurbishment and decades of history, is currently up for grabs with no reserve on Bring a Trailer, drawing strong interest from collectors of classic American performance cars.

The C2-generation Corvette, finished in factory-correct Rally Red with black vinyl interior, was originally registered in Indiana and is believed to have spent three decades in storage until its rediscovery in 2006. A full refurbishment was carried out between 2008 and 2010, breathing new life into the classic fiberglass-bodied convertible.

Under the hood sits a replacement 327-cubic inch V8, reportedly installed in 1969, paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a 3.70:1 Positraction rear differential. The powertrain has received continued maintenance under the current owner, including a carburetor rebuild, exhaust system replacement, and fluid changes, making the car road-ready for its next chapter.

Notable exterior features include both a removable hardtop—repainted to match the car’s vibrant red finish—and a white convertible soft top replaced during the restoration. Chrome bumpers, retractable headlights, turbine-style 15-inch wheels with Coker Classic redline tires, and a chrome driver’s mirror complete the period-correct aesthetic.

Inside, the Corvette offers black vinyl bucket seats, a Delco AM/FM radio, lap belts, and a dashboard outfitted with original-style gauges, including a 160-mph speedometer and 7,000-rpm tachometer.

Now offered on dealer consignment in Arizona, the Corvette comes with the original owner’s manual, detailed service records, restoration photographs, and a Washington title branded as “Antique.”

With no reserve set, the auction presents an opportunity for enthusiasts to acquire a fully documented, classically restored mid-year Corvette that combines vintage charm with refreshed mechanical reliability.
