Refurbished 1991 Mercedes-Benz 250GD Wolf Hits Bring a Trailer with No Reserve

A heavily refurbished and tastefully upgraded 1991 Mercedes-Benz 250GD Wolf is now up for grabs on Bring a Trailer, offered at no reserve. Originally built for military duty, this example was restored and modified by Expedition Motor Company before its US import in 2019. The current seller acquired it in 2020, and the odometer now shows approximately 8,000 km (about 5,000 miles) since the rebuild.

This 250GD received a full body-off overhaul, including a bare-metal refinish of the body and frame. The truck is finished in Olive with a dark soft top, paired with a brown interior featuring custom wood accents. New seals, gaskets, and body mounts were fitted during reassembly, and the frame was stripped and repainted as part of the extensive refurbishment.

Mechanical work included replacing major suspension components, brake hardware, and steering elements. Bilstein shocks were installed, and the braking system was rebuilt with new rotors, pads, shoes, lines, and hoses. The seller notes that the brake calipers were rebuilt and the rear drums reconditioned.

Power comes from the 2.5-liter OM602 diesel inline-five, paired with a five-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. Both the gearbox and transfer case were disassembled and resealed, and a new clutch and throw-out bearing were fitted. The locking differentials were refinished and inspected. Engine servicing included a reconditioned cylinder head, new gaskets and seals, a re-cored radiator, new fuel lines, and replacement timing components. A color-matched shovel is mounted in the engine bay as a nod to the model’s utilitarian roots.

Inside, the cabin offers a blend of rugged and upgraded comfort. Brown upholstery with contrast stitching, heated front seats, and Vintage Air climate control enhance usability, while a Blaupunkt stereo with Bluetooth and Focal speakers modernize the driving experience. Additional touches include a gooseneck map light, rear storage compartments, and custom wood trim.

Exterior updates include LED lighting, 16-inch steel wheels, body-colored accessories, and an electric front winch, giving the Wolf a refined but functional off-road look.

The truck comes with a clean Carfax report and a clean Florida title. For buyers seeking a restored, ready-to-drive G-Wagen with both character and capability, this no-reserve listing may earn serious attention. See it here.
