A beautifully restored 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT, one of approximately 2,900 E-series models produced, has surfaced on the market. Originally delivered to Chinetti-Garthwaite Imports in Pennsylvania, this iconic Italian sports car has passed through multiple owners, spending much of its life in California before being purchased by the current seller and relocated to Florida in 2016. An extensive refurbishment completed in 2018 has brought this classic back to its former glory, with careful attention to both aesthetics and mechanical systems.

The Dino received a fresh coat of its original Rosso Chiaro paint during the restoration, along with new black leather upholstery that complements its sleek design. Mechanically, the car underwent an engine-out service for its 2.4-liter Tipo 135CS V6 engine. This service included overhauling the carburetors and replacing oil lines, gaskets, and seals. Further work was done to refresh the suspension, brakes, cooling, and fuel systems, ensuring the car is as capable on the road as it is stunning to behold.

Fitted with triple Weber carburetors and a five-speed manual transaxle, the Dino delivers a driving experience that embodies Ferrari’s performance heritage. Power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes and recently installed 14″ Cromodora alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tires provide a confident and controlled ride. Inside the cabin, fixed-back bucket seats, power windows, air conditioning, and a Beltek AM/FM cassette player add to the car’s period charm, while the dashboard was retrimmed with replacement “mouse-fur” material to maintain the car’s authentic look.

The 42,000-mile Dino, with only 100 miles driven under its current ownership, comes with comprehensive service records, a Marcel Massini report, and photos documenting its refurbishment. This vintage Ferrari is a rare opportunity for collectors to own a piece of automotive history, combining the beauty and precision that the Ferrari Dino name has long represented.
