The automotive and fashion worlds collide once again as Kith founder Ronnie Fieg unveils a one-of-a-kind BMW M1, merging vintage engineering with modern design. Known for his passion for cars and streetwear, Fieg has previously turned heads with his Kith x BMW E30 M3 collaboration. Now, he sets his sights on BMW’s iconic M1, showcasing it as the centerpiece for the upcoming Kith for BMW 2024 Showcase.
The BMW M1, originally introduced in 1978, is celebrated for its striking wedge design by Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and its mid-engine six-cylinder powertrain. With only 453 units produced between 1978 and 1981, the M1 remains a symbol of BMW’s motorsport heritage. Ronnie Fieg’s rebuild of this rare classic respects its roots while adding distinctive touches that echo Kith’s contemporary design language.
Fieg’s custom M1 is finished in BMW’s Techno Violet, a bold color that highlights the car’s sharp lines and timeless design. Custom Kith M-Series badges adorn the rear decklid and door sills, subtly emphasizing the collaboration. Inside, the car is outfitted with BMW Individual Grey Merino Leather, featuring Kith’s signature monogram embossed across the seats, headrests, door panels, and floor mats. This meticulous attention to detail elevates the M1’s already luxurious interior.
This bespoke BMW M1 will debut alongside Fieg’s collection of custom BMWs at the Kith for BMW 2024 Showcase in Miami. The event, held on December 6th at the iconic 1111 Lincoln Road parking garage, celebrates the intersection of fashion, automotive excellence, and Fieg’s creative vision.
By bridging the gap between BMW’s storied history and Kith’s modern aesthetics, Ronnie Fieg’s M1 serves as a testament to the timeless appeal of the brand’s legacy—and the innovation that continues to drive it forward.
