A remarkable 2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, boasting the 1,000-horsepower Competition Package, is now available for sale in Florida on Bring a Trailer. This ultra-rare supercar, one of only two examples ever built with this package, was initially sold to a Florida collector through Prestige Imports Miami Beach in December 2005. After changing hands a couple of times, it was acquired by its current dealer in 2017, who then commissioned an extensive mechanical refresh.

The overhaul included an upgrade to the twin-turbocharged 7.0-liter V8 engine, featuring a custom induction system, a MoTeC engine management system with E85 capability, drive-by-wire, traction control, and launch control. Finished in an eye-catching Lizstick Red, this S7 also features Competition Package-specific aerodynamic enhancements, a six-speed manual transaxle, and a limited-slip differential. With just 1,100 miles on the odometer, this S7 is a pristine example of Saleen’s engineering prowess.
Celebrating Saleen’s Legacy with Modern Enhancements

The Saleen S7, unveiled at the 2000 Monterey Historic Races, was the first model designed and engineered by Saleen from the ground up. The 2005 twin-turbo version brought a significant power boost with the Competition Package offering either 850 or 1,000 horsepower. This particular car, chassis 05-049, features a variety of enhancements, including forged alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, and a coilover suspension, ensuring top-notch performance and handling.

The exterior of the car, designed by Phil Frank, features autoclave-cured carbon-fiber bodywork, including power-operated butterfly doors, an integrated roof intake vent, and functional gill-shaped ducting. The Competition Package adds a carbon-fiber rear wing, front splitter, and revised rear diffuser. Inside, the cabin is appointed with black leather and red cloth accents, Sparco four-point harnesses, air conditioning, and a Kenwood CD/DVD player, blending luxury with racing functionality.
A Collector’s Dream with Modern Performance

Under the hood, the mid-mounted 7.0-liter V8 engine has been meticulously upgraded. Initially based on Ford’s Windsor small block, it now features an aluminum block, CNC-machined aluminum cylinder heads, a forged billet steel crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication, and a stainless-steel quad-exit exhaust system. The engine overhaul by Fountain Race Engines and subsequent enhancements by Heffner Performance have transformed this S7 into a modern powerhouse capable of handling E85 fuel.

The 1,100-mile 2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo Competition Package represents a unique opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Its combination of rarity, low mileage, and extensive performance upgrades makes it a standout in the supercar world. This S7 is now offered in Florida with comprehensive documentation, including a letter from Saleen, service invoices, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
