At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Stellantis attempted to shine a spotlight on its EV portfolio by unveiling the exclusive 2025 Fiat 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition. However, the announcement has been overshadowed by delays in launching the much-anticipated Wagoneer S, Jeep Recon, and Ram 1500 REV electric vehicles, now postponed until late 2025.
The Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition offers an elevated take on the compact 500e, which remains the only Fiat electric vehicle available in the U.S. market. Despite its stylish upgrades, the model has already been showcased in Europe since July 2024, leading some to view its U.S. introduction as underwhelming.
Billed as “the finest expression of Italian design,” the special edition boasts two exclusive paint options—Green and Greige—paired with matching eco-leather seats. Unique design details include tone-on-tone interiors with chevron stitching, 17-inch wheels featuring a burnished two-tone finish, and Giorgio Armani’s iconic logo embossed on the headrests, dashboard, and interior panels.
Technology enhancements include full LED lighting, a wireless charging pad, a 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, and a seven-speaker JBL audio system co-developed with Andrea Bocelli. The system allows drivers to customize the cabin’s acoustics through virtual-reality-inspired settings.
While the Giorgio Armani Edition might attract buyers drawn to luxury design, it does little to distract from Stellantis’ broader struggles. The company, which has yet to launch any U.S.-built EVs, is losing market share for its American brands Jeep, Chrysler, and Ram. These delays are compounded by shifting market conditions and uncertain federal policies surrounding electric vehicles.
Whether this luxury compact can spark excitement or serve as a placeholder in Stellantis’ U.S. strategy remains to be seen. For now, it’s a stylish but limited offering in a rapidly evolving market.
