The Brabus Rocket 1000 Is A Supercar Sedan

By Steven Symes Mar24,2024 #News

Never known for its subtlety, Brabus has come out swinging once more, this time unveiling the Rocket 1000, which is essentially a supercar sedan. Based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance, output is dialed up to 1,000-horsepower (hence the name) while production is capped at a mere 25 units.

Lotus wants to make self-driving sports cars.

The tuning house pulled out all the stops to get the biturbo 4.5-liter V8 to push out 1,000-hp. Actually, it doesn’t do that alone, thanks to an electric component to the powertrain, making this supercar a gas-electric hybrid. That helps explain why torque peaks at a monstrous 1,194 lb.-ft.

This makes the Rocket 1000 the most powerful Brabus to date. It makes good use of that, sprinting 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds and hitting a top speed of 196 mph. We doubt many if any will race these cars, so that performance potential might not truly be utilized.

Brabus makes a big deal about the wheels and tires on the Rocket 1000, Monoblock P forged wheels and Continental SportContact 7 tires, which are quite large with 21 inch wheels up front and 22s in the rear. They’re also wide, and that makes sense considering all that power needs a large contact patch or it would be constantly wasted in hopping and spinning wheels.

Just like one would expect from any Brabus, the interior is loaded with bespoke elements. Among the handcrafted details are quilted leather upholstery, carbon fiber trim, accent lighting, and Brabus insignias galore.

Considering past iterations of the Brabus Rocket series have been eagerly scooped up by collectors and enthusiasts, we expect this one will be similarly well-received. However, the cost will keep many from obtaining one. Models adorned with black are priced at $580,000 while those in gray cost $610,000.

Undoubtedly, values will instantly rise and continue climbing, which is why many will see this Brabus, just like others, as a solid investment.
