A Trio of Timeless Thunderbirds from the Jay Cimino Collection Will Sell at No Reserve

Three generations of Ford’s iconic personal luxury car are taking flight at no reserve when the Jay Cimino Collection hits the auction block on October 25, 2025. Each Thunderbird represents a different chapter in Ford’s stylish evolution—from 1950s glamour to 1960s sophistication—all offered through the Classic Car Auction Group in Colorado Springs.

1957 Ford Thunderbird – Starmist Blue Beauty

This 1957 Thunderbird, finished in Starmist Blue with a Colonial White upper, received a concours-level restoration and stands as a top-tier example of Ford’s legendary two-seater. Believed to retain its original 312ci V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor, this car displays meticulous attention to detail from its date-stamped components to its factory-correct trim. Inside, Pleated Dresden and Starmist Vinyl upholstery complete the authentic presentation. With only a few minor imperfections noted, this Thunderbird is an investment-grade example ready for the next discerning collector.

1956 Ford Thunderbird – Red Over White Classic

The 1956 Thunderbird exudes mid-century flair with its Red exterior and matching hardtop, complemented by a Red and White vinyl interior. It’s powered by a V8 engine, believed to be a 312ci 4V, paired with an automatic transmission and dual exhaust. Notable features include vintage air conditioning, a continental kit, and high-quality chrome trim. A prior high-end restoration ensures it still presents beautifully, though the brakes could benefit from servicing after long-term static display.

1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible – Rangoon Red Elegance

Representing the fourth generation, this Rangoon Red convertible features a white vinyl top, wire wheels, and a dealer-installed tonneau cover reminiscent of the Sports Roadster look. Powered by a 390ci V8 and Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, this T-Bird offers smooth, comfortable cruising with all the period luxury Ford was known for. The 1964 model year also stands apart as the only one to feature “Thunderbird” spelled out across the hood—adding a touch of exclusivity to an already special car.

All three of these Thunderbirds come from the late Jay Cimino, a respected automotive leader, philanthropist, and passionate collector. His cars were stored in climate-controlled conditions, started regularly, and maintained with care, though each will benefit from a mechanical inspection before hitting the road.

With no reserve, these Thunderbirds promise to soar to new homes—wherever the final bid lands.

This Online Auction will also feature thirty cars selling from the Jay Cimino Collection at No Reserve.
