A pristine and rare turbocharged 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 is set to hit the auction block, attracting enthusiasts and collectors alike. Originally delivered to Tonkin Gran Turismo in Portland, Oregon, this iconic vehicle now shows only 7,000 miles on the odometer. The DeLorean’s 2.85-liter V6 engine, enhanced with a BAE turbocharger, is paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, ensuring a thrilling driving experience.

The DMC-12’s stainless-steel body, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, remains an unmistakable feature. This model boasts gullwing doors, rear window louvers, gray upholstery, air conditioning, and a console-mounted boost gauge. Additional features include a factory AM/FM cassette stereo, gray urethane bumper caps, a louvered engine cover, dual exhaust outlets, black side stripes and moldings, quadruple headlights, and a front spoiler. The DeLorean’s undercarriage has been meticulously detailed, and recent maintenance includes oil, brake fluid, and coolant changes, as well as an air conditioning recharge.

The DMC-12 rides on staggered-diameter 14″ front and 15″ rear turbine-style aluminum wheels, mounted with 195/60 front and 235/60 rear Hankook tires. Ventilated disc brakes at each corner provide reliable stopping power. Inside, the cabin features high-back bucket seats upholstered in gray leather, complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Modern conveniences include air conditioning, a cassette stereo, power-operated windows, central locking, power-adjustable side mirrors, and a tilting and telescoping steering column.

The dashboard showcases a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel framing a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, along with gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. An AutoMeter turbo boost gauge has been installed on the center console panel, highlighting the car’s performance capabilities.

The 2.85-liter V6 engine, jointly developed by Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo, was fitted with an aftermarket BAE turbocharger during prior ownership. Key components such as the starter, fuel pump, and injectors were replaced in 2019. The vehicle’s undercarriage has been detailed to ensure it presents as impeccably as it performs.
