Collectors of Japanese sports cars and high-performance machines now have a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive Nissan GT-Rs ever made: the GT-R50 by Italdesign. Listed by Ontario’s Legendary Motorsports Company, this ultra-rare GT-R50 originally carried a price tag of $1.1 million and represents the pinnacle of Nissan’s legendary GT-R line.
Crafted by coachbuilder Italdesign in 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversaries of both the GT-R and the Italian design house, only 19 of these GT-R50s were built. This particular example, the 11th built by hand, was delivered to its first owner in 2021 and sports only delivery mileage, ensuring it’s in pristine condition. Though it retains the familiar aggressive stance of a standard GT-R, the GT-R50 features a sleek re-bodied design with refined aerodynamics. The exterior boasts an elegant Liquid Silver finish with striking Nismo Red accents, a premium color option that alone added over $27,000 to its original price. It also comes equipped with a custom hydraulic rear wing, an additional $38,000 feature designed to enhance high-speed stability.
Under the hood, the GT-R50 is powered by a finely tuned 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6, upgraded with turbochargers from Nissan’s GT3 race car, enabling it to produce a powerful 710 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque. This formidable output is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The GT-R50’s advanced suspension and Brembo brakes ensure its handling and braking are as responsive as its acceleration, delivering a track-inspired driving experience.
While the Canadian dealership has not disclosed the asking price, this GT-R50 is expected to attract significant interest from high-end collectors seeking a unique and exclusive addition to their collection. Given its limited production, bespoke design, and remarkable performance, this GT-R50 by Italdesign stands as a modern icon in the world of high-performance sports cars.
