Utah-based car collector John E. Linquist has assembled a fine array of 27 Corvettes, each one representing the highlights of eight generations for America’s Sports Car. Now he’s parting ways with the beloved rides during an upcoming auction, all of them crossing the block at no reserve.
A rare Lamborghini Sian is also headed to auction.
Many will try taking advantage of the unique opportunity to scoop up one of these Corvette beauties for a deal. Like Lindquist, many believe the Corvette is “the most beautiful car in the world.”
Lindquist apparently stores his Corvettes in chronological order in a private airplane hangar, making for quite the private display. The first one would be his Polo White 1953 C1, number 129 of 300 out of the first production year of the performance icon.
Another highlight is the 1962 Corvette Convertible, representing the last year of the C1. That specific car was honored with an NCRS Top Flight Award back in 2014. Fully restored, the Sateen Silver over red makes for a drop dead gorgeous presentation.
Also included in the collection is a 1966 Chevy Corvette 427, marking the first year the legendary engine was offered to customers. Dressed in Tuxedo Black over black, we expect the sinister C2 to fetch a fair price.
Collectors will also have their eyes on the 1971 Corvette LS6 Coupe, a multiple NCRS Top Flight winner that’s one of a mere 188 LS6 models from ’71. The same should be true of the 1996 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe in Admiral Blue with white stripe. With its LS3 engine, that car was a force to be reckoned with in its time.
Modern Corvettes are represented by the 2013 Callaway and a 2020 3LT Coupe, both fine choices which should age well and only climb in value.
There is a little bit of something for everyone in the Utah Corvette Collection, which will be auctioned during Mecum’s Glendale 2024 event. See the entire collection here.
