Owning a Bugatti Veyron is the dream of many supercar enthusiasts, but it comes with a hefty price tag that extends well beyond the initial purchase. A routine oil change on this luxury hypercar can cost up to $25,000, and that’s just the beginning of the expenses associated with maintaining a Veyron.
Known for being one of the fastest cars in the world, the Bugatti Veyron has captured the imagination of car enthusiasts and petrolheads for over a decade. However, as one recent owner discovered, keeping this automotive icon running smoothly is no small feat.
In a YouTube video by Drivetribe, the cost of servicing a Bugatti Veyron was explored, revealing some shocking details. According to the video, the main contributor to the steep service cost is the extensive labor and the high price of parts, particularly the filters. The Veyron requires up to 18 liters of oil and various filters to be replaced annually, including engine, gearbox, and differential filters, each of which can cost thousands of dollars. For example, a simple transmission filter costs about $1,000, while the gearbox filter can triple that price. Air filters, which require disassembling the rear of the car, add to the already considerable cost.
The service also demands around 27 hours of labor, which further inflates the price. In addition to the oil change and filter replacements, owners are advised to replace the car’s tires every 2-3 years, with a set of new tires costing up to $30,000. Alloy wheels, which are only good for 10,000 miles, add another $40,000 to the bill.
While some owners have found cheaper alternatives, dealership rates remain prohibitively expensive, often reaching over $25,000 for a full service. Even discounted services can run up to $10,000, which is still a significant amount for an oil change.
