YouTuber Jack Doherty Faces Backlash After Crashing McLaren on Livestream

Internet sensation Jack Doherty found himself in hot water after crashing his $200,000 McLaren during a livestream, sparking widespread criticism. The 20-year-old influencer, who boasts nearly 15 million YouTube subscribers, is known for his controversial stunts and flashy lifestyle. However, his recent on-road escapade has raised serious concerns about safety and responsibility among his followers.

The incident occurred while Doherty was broadcasting on the streaming platform Kick. Footage shows him speeding on a rain-slicked highway, glancing down at his phone moments before hydroplaning and colliding with a guardrail. The dramatic footage, which captured Doherty’s panicked reaction as he lost control of the vehicle, quickly spread across social media. In the video, he can be heard shouting, “No, no, no!” before the car crashes.

Following the accident, Doherty uploaded a series of videos showing the aftermath, including a clip of him frantically yelling for help while trapped inside the wrecked car. Viewers noted his apparent focus on capturing the event rather than ensuring the safety of his passenger, who was seen bleeding from a head injury. Doherty even asked the injured cameraman to film the situation for him, further angering his audience.

As a result, Kick swiftly banned Doherty’s channel, citing violations of their safety guidelines, which explicitly prohibit engaging in dangerous behavior. Despite the backlash, Doherty later shared footage from a hospital room where his cameraman was treated with stitches, but notably omitted the controversial moments leading up to the crash.

Doherty has yet to address the criticism directly, and representatives for the YouTuber have not responded to media requests for comments. Fans and critics alike are debating the accountability of online personalities who prioritize content over safety.
