Zenvo Unveils Record-Breaking 1,850-HP V12 Engine for New Aurora Hypercar

Danish hypercar maker Zenvo Automotive has unveiled what it claims is the most powerful V12 engine ever engineered for a road car, as it prepares to launch its latest flagship model, the Aurora.

At the heart of this groundbreaking development is the 6.6-liter quad-turbocharged V12 named Mjølner, developed in collaboration with engineering firm MAHLE Powertrain. With the addition of a hybrid electric system, the powertrain is capable of generating a staggering 1,850 horsepower—putting it at the pinnacle of internal combustion engineering in a street-legal vehicle.

More than just raw numbers, the Mjølner engine showcases cutting-edge innovation. Utilizing MAHLE’s Jet Ignition system, the power unit promises not only explosive performance but also compliance with future emissions regulations. According to Zenvo, this advanced ignition technology allows the engine to run more efficiently and cleanly, making the Aurora suitable for both extreme track use and everyday road driving.

“We set out to create something truly extraordinary,” said Zenvo founder Troels Vollertsen. “Mjølner is not just about power. It’s about precision, innovation, and defining the future of performance for road-going hypercars.”

The engine is part of a broader modular powertrain architecture that Zenvo intends to use across future models. This flexible system allows different configurations to be adapted for upcoming vehicles, signaling a strategic shift in how Zenvo approaches performance and sustainability.

The Aurora, which will be the first car to receive the Mjølner engine, is expected to launch later this year. With a combination of blistering performance, hybrid efficiency, and bold engineering, Zenvo’s latest creation appears poised to redefine the boundaries of road-going performance cars.

Zenvo, long a boutique builder of exotic high-horsepower machines, now stands at the forefront of the next generation of hypercar technology.
