For many Jaguar fans and plenty more enthusiasts, the XJ220 is an absolute dream car. That makes any of the 281 units produced crossing an auction block a big deal. It’s about to happen, only this one stands out from the bunch as the last one assembled.

Porsche sets records at two famous tracks.

Chassis number 617 will be auctioned off in the near future and many will be watching this one closely. Initially, the supercar was retained in Jaguar’s private collection in the UK after it was completed on March 28, 1994. It sat inside a hermetically sealed Carcoon and was carefully monitored by Jaguar technicians, being absolutely pampered.

Once Jaguar decided to sell this iconic car it was delivered to its new owner in New York City. From there it has had only one other owner, an enthusiast living in Nashville, Tennessee.

The second owner gave this XJ220 a refresh and mechanical overhaul to the tune of $81,000 by none other than Canepa. Since it sat unused for so long, it shouldn’t be shocking to learn the odometer only reads 3,769 km (about 2,342 miles) and so is probably one of the newest, perhaps the newest XJ220 as far as usage.

The seller is providing service invoices from both its previous owners, proving it has been cared for meticulously. All records of the work performed by Canepa, including photographs, are also included. Plus, having been in possession of Jaguar, its history is well-documented.

Few have had the privilege of owning a Jaguar XJ220, with the supercar bearing an incredibly legendary status as a result. That should fuel a good number of bids on this vehicle and even possibly a bidding war, considering its unique history.
