Every Ferrari 250 GTO is an automotive legend commanding immeasurable respect at any gathering. However, it’s possible to be special even among the elite of Maranello and this 1962 left-hand-drive model certainly qualifies.

Learn about the Rolls-Royce Arcadia.

Not only is this exquisite classic Ferrari wearing the proper huge of red, showcasing its elegant body quite well, this is one of only 21 left-hand-drive Series 1 cars originally made. What’s more, this is a true numbers-matching example with the factory original chassis, engine, gearbox, body, and rear axle.

If your attention is now piqued, this should be music to your ears: this ’62 Ferrari 250 GTO is available for private purchase now. That’s right, it’s not part of an upcoming auction but instead is ripe for the taking immediately.

While we could stare at the photos for longer than would be prudent, the beauty of this car has only been enhanced by a recent refurbishment. It looks ready to be entered in some of the most exclusive concours in the world where it would, no doubt, perform quite well.

According to British collectible dealer Tom Hartley Jnr, this rare piece of Ferrari history was originally delivered to Garage Francorchamps, which entered the car in the 1962 Tour de France but sadly missed out on a victory some believed was deserved.

However, the prime racing days for this Ferrari 250 GTO were far from over as it enjoyed the years 1963 to 1965 competing for Scuderia Filipinetti. That motorsports history has been documented and adds a richness to this car a true collector would fully appreciate.

While the dealer doesn’t list them out, it claims that after retiring from a career in racing, this classic Ferrari has been owned by “some of the world’s most prominent collectors.” Considering the reputation of Tom Hartley Jnr we would expect that documentation and much more is available upon request from serious shoppers.
