Bentley Revives Century-Old Name for Rare New Model

Bentley Motors is preparing to honor its past by reviving a storied name from a century ago for a new limited-production car. The British marque confirmed the upcoming model will debut under a nameplate first introduced in the mid-1920s, marking a direct link between Bentley’s modern lineup and its racing heritage.

The announcement comes as Bentley celebrates more than 105 years of history, much of it forged on the race circuits of Europe. From its early victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans to its long-standing reputation for blending luxury with performance, the brand has cultivated a legacy of craftsmanship and competition that few rivals can match.

In recent years, Bentley’s bespoke Mulliner division has played a key role in bridging the gap between past and present. Projects such as the Continuation Series recreations of the Blower and Speed Six have pushed historical accuracy to new levels, with engineers relying on original documents, 3D scans, and period-correct materials to construct faithful tributes to Bentley’s racing icons. Those painstakingly built models now reside in some of the world’s most exclusive collections.

The forthcoming revival, however, is expected to be based on the modern Bentley Continental GT, hinting at a blend of cutting-edge engineering and a century-old motorsport legacy. While the company has not confirmed which historic badge will return, speculation centers on the Blower name — a reference to Bentley’s supercharged machines that roared down the Mulsanne Straight in the 1920s and 1930s.

Whether or not the Blower moniker makes its comeback, Bentley promises that the new special edition will be rare, exclusive, and deeply rooted in the brand’s storied past. Further details are expected later this year.
