A 1963 Maserati 3500 GTi Coupe is drawing attention among collectors as interest in vintage Italian grand touring cars continues to grow alongside renewed appreciation for Maserati’s early road car heritage.

The highly original coupe, identified by VIN 1012714, features a medium green exterior paired with a brown leather interior, a distinctive combination that highlights the elegant styling of Maserati’s landmark grand tourer. The vehicle remains in notably presentable condition both inside and out and is reported to run and drive well.

The body, designed and constructed by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, remains one of the defining elements of the 3500 GTi. Touring’s lightweight Superleggera construction process helped Maserati create a grand touring coupe capable of balancing performance with comfort and everyday usability. The car’s undercarriage is described as clean and solid, further supporting its reputation as a well-preserved example.
Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1957, the Maserati 3500 GT marked an important turning point for the Italian manufacturer. Produced through 1964, the model became Maserati’s first true series-production road car and played a major role in expanding the company beyond its racing roots.

The 3500 GT was developed to deliver strong performance while remaining refined enough for regular road use. Maserati applied decades of motorsports engineering experience to the car, including a race-derived 3.5-liter engine, capable road manners and high-quality construction. The result positioned the 3500 GT as a direct competitor to leading grand touring cars produced in Germany, England and Italy during the era.
Interest in classic Maseratis has received additional momentum as vintage examples of the marque are featured prominently at this year’s Goodwood Revival. The event celebrates the centennial of Alfieri Maserati’s breakthrough victory at the Targa Florio, one of the company’s earliest and most important motorsport achievements.

With its preserved condition, elegant styling and historical importance within Maserati’s evolution as a road car manufacturer, the 1963 3500 GTi represents an opportunity for collectors seeking one of the brand’s most respected grand touring models. See it here.
