A highly customized 1984 Chevrolet El Camino has emerged as a distinctive fusion of classic utility design and performance-focused engineering, reflecting inspiration from Buick’s legendary GNX platform. Finished in black with a black and gray interior, the vehicle showcases an extensive transformation that redefines the final generation of Chevrolet’s car-based pickup.

Originally part of the G-Body lineup, the El Camino shared its foundation with the Malibu while offering a unique combination of passenger car comfort and pickup functionality. Production of the model ended in 1987 without a direct successor, making surviving and modified examples increasingly notable among enthusiasts.
This particular build draws heavily from the Buick GNX, a turbocharged performance icon of the 1980s known for its aggressive styling and engineering advancements. Under the hood, the El Camino now features a Buick Motorsports 4.1-liter turbocharged V6 paired with a Precision turbocharger. According to available dyno data, the setup produces 470 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a THM200-R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
The drivetrain is further supported by a Buick GNX-style 10-bolt rear axle and a 3.73 ratio Positraction differential. Additional performance enhancements include a Holley EFI system, coilover suspension from Aldan, and a four-link rear suspension arrangement. Braking is handled by power-assisted systems with drilled and slotted rotors.

Externally, the vehicle has been refinished in black and fitted with GNX-style body components, including fender vents, mesh wheels, and a custom bed cover with an integrated lip spoiler. Smoked taillights complete the updated appearance.
Inside, the cabin has been reworked with GNX-inspired elements, including a modified instrument cluster and a digital display integrated into the ashtray area. The truck bed has been lined with carpeting, adding a refined touch to its utility-focused design.

The vehicle shows 34 miles on its replaced odometer following the build. Service records indicate recent maintenance, including engine-related work and component replacements in 2023 and 2024. The Carfax report notes gaps in history but no recorded accidents during the documented period.

Currently located in Charlotte, North Carolina, the El Camino carries a clean Texas title. Due to its extensive modifications, emissions compliance may vary by location, leaving registration considerations to prospective buyers.
