When Mecum Auctions rolls into Nashville this September, a trio of vehicles straight from the Roush collection will cross the block, each one tied to Jack Roush’s motorsports legacy. From a promotional show truck to a modern drag car raced by the Roush family’s next generation, these lots span the range of Roush Performance’s work. All three cross the block on Saturday, September 26th.
1990 Ford F-150 Concept Sport Truck
Only two of these “Signature Trucks” were ever built by Roush Industries, and this is one of them. Wearing a red, white and blue livery tied to Mark Martin’s No. 6 Valvoline Ford, the F-150 spent its life as a rolling billboard, appearing at Valvoline shops and trackside events and even making a cameo in a Sammy Kershaw music video. Under the hood is a 351 CI V-8 fitted with TFS aluminum heads, electronic fuel injection and a Crane roller hydraulic cam, paired with a 5-speed manual and a limited-slip rear end. Roush also lowered the truck with dropped I-beams, an underslung axle and retuned springs and shocks. It’s being offered at no reserve.

2019 Dodge Challenger Drag Car
This one keeps the Roush racing bloodline going. The white Challenger began life as a well-optioned 5.7L Hemi R/T Shaker before being transformed into a dedicated NMCA drag racer campaigned by Josie Roush McClenaghan, Jack Roush’s granddaughter and the daughter of veteran drag racer Susan Roush McClenaghan. A Hellcat-style hood now hides a built 6.2L Hemi topped with a Whipple supercharger, sending power through a 3-speed racing automatic. The car still wears its competition livery, complete with an SRT spoiler, a roll bar, a single-seat racing bucket and a parachute for shutting things down at the far end of the track.

1987 Ford Mustang GT
Rounding out the trio is a Fox-body Mustang GT with an unusual second career: driver training. Roush Performance built this bright-orange GT for the Bob Bondurant School of Performance Driving, and it still carries the school’s livery today. Its 302/255 HP V-8 and 5-speed manual are backed by a Roush-tuned suspension package with Eibach springs, Monroe shocks and struts, and 16-inch Ronal wheels. Braking duty was upgraded too, with Wilwood four-piston front calipers and Lincoln Continental rear brakes. It’s also crossing the block at no reserve.
