Ceramic Coatings & Paint Protection for Collector Cars
Once paint is clean and corrected, protection keeps it that way. Ceramic coatings, sprays and protective films add a durable barrier against UV, water spots, bird droppings and wash marring.
The right choice depends on how often the car is driven, where it is stored and whether you want to apply it yourself.

What to Look For
Durability claims: Realistic consumer coatings last one to three years. Treat multi-year claims as best-case figures.
Ease of application: Look at flash time and working time. A forgiving product is better than a strong one applied badly.
Reversibility: Coatings are semi-permanent. If originality matters, a wax or sealant is easier to remove later.
Cure conditions: Most coatings need a dry, temperate garage and 12 to 24 hours before getting wet.
FAQ
Is a ceramic coating better than wax?
It lasts much longer and resists chemicals better, but wax gives a warm look some collectors prefer and is fully reversible.
Do I need to polish before coating?
Yes. A coating locks in whatever is underneath, including swirls and scratches.
Can a coating hurt original paint?
Applied correctly it does not, but removal requires polishing, which does take a little clear coat.
Prep properly, apply patiently and maintain gently. Good protection is what lets your paint correction last.
