Original Paint 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III Heading to GAA Classic Cars Auction

A true survivor from the peak of the muscle car era is set to cross the block at the GAA Classic Cars Auction in April 2026, as this 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III prepares to run on Saturday.

Finished in code-correct Pepper Green (MM) over a black bucket seat interior (code 58), this example stands out for one key reason: it’s described as an all-original survivor with its factory paint still intact. That alone puts it in a different category from the majority of restored Judges seen today.

Under the hood sits the matching-numbers Ram Air III 400 cubic-inch V8, paired with an M20 4-speed manual transmission. This was one of the defining combinations of the era—delivering strong performance while still remaining accessible compared to the rarer Ram Air IV cars.

What makes this GTO Judge particularly compelling is the level of documentation and originality that accompanies it. The car includes its original window sticker, PHS documentation, Protect-O-Plate, and original owner’s manual. Even more telling, it still retains the original dealer sticker on the trunk lid, noting its delivery through Bill Abbott Pontiac in Monticello, Illinois.

Factory equipment includes power steering, power brakes, and a Safe-T-Track differential, rounding out a well-optioned example that was clearly meant to be driven and enjoyed when new.

The Judge package itself remains one of Pontiac’s most recognizable statements from the muscle car wars, combining bold styling with real performance. But while many examples have been restored, modified, or heavily used over the decades, survivor cars like this—especially those retaining original paint—have become increasingly difficult to find.

With its combination of factory originality, documented history, and matching-numbers drivetrain, this 1970 GTO Judge is likely to draw strong attention when it hits the GAA auction stage.

For collectors focused on authenticity rather than restoration, this is exactly the kind of car that tends to stand out—and disappear quickly once bidding starts.
