A 1958 Facel Vega FV3B Coupe is attracting interest among collectors as one of the rarest and most distinctive grand touring cars of its era. The French-built luxury coupe, chassis 58265, represents one of only 90 FV3B models produced during 1957 and 1958.

Originally ordered new in France, the car was delivered in its factory-correct Grey exterior over a Red leather interior, a color combination it still retains today. Known for blending European coachbuilt elegance with American V8 performance, the Facel Vega brand earned a reputation during the 1950s for producing exclusive high-speed touring cars favored by wealthy buyers and celebrities.
This example originally left the factory equipped with a rare Pont-à-Mousson manual transmission paired with a Chrysler Hemi V8 engine. Over time, the drivetrain was replaced with a 1970 Chrysler 340 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission, creating a more relaxed touring experience while maintaining the model’s American-powered character.

The coupe was previously restored and remains visually striking, reflecting the sophisticated styling that helped establish Facel Vega as one of Europe’s premier luxury performance marques. Chrome detailing, sweeping body lines and a refined cabin helped separate the FV3B from many contemporaries of the late 1950s.
Despite its presentation, the car has seen very limited use in recent years. Records indicate it has traveled only six miles during the past 14 years, meaning mechanical servicing is recommended before regular driving or touring. Its low recent mileage suggests long-term preservation rather than continued road use.
The vehicle also carries notable ownership history. A sales invoice dated December 2008 shows the car was once owned by Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Ahmad Al-Sabah, who served as Kuwait’s sixth prime minister between 2006 and 2011.

With its rarity, original factory color scheme and blend of French luxury and American muscle, the 1958 Facel Vega FV3B remains a standout example of postwar grand touring design. Collectors continue to value the model for its exclusivity and distinctive character in the world of classic European automobiles.
