A recently delivered Bugatti Mistral has reappeared on the market with a price tag that underscores the growing trend of hypercars as financial assets rather than driving machines. Originally offered to select buyers at a starting price of about $5 million before customization and taxes, the limited-production roadster is now listed for $10.5 million, effectively doubling its initial cost.

The Mistral holds special significance as Bugatti’s final model powered by the iconic 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine. The company has since moved on to a new era with a naturally aspirated V16 developed alongside Cosworth. As a result, the Mistral represents the end of a defining chapter for the brand, increasing its desirability among collectors.
This particular 2025 example has barely been driven, showing just 328 miles on the odometer. Finished in Matte Argent with exposed black carbon elements and paired with a black and orange interior, the car remains in near-delivery condition. Like other Mistral units, it was custom-built and delivered directly to its original owner, bypassing traditional showroom display.
Bugatti began delivering the Mistral in early 2025, with final units expected to reach customers by the first half of 2026. With all production slots already spoken for, opportunities to acquire one are extremely limited, making resale listings the only realistic option for prospective buyers.

Performance remains a key part of the model’s appeal. The W16 engine produces 1,578 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque, enabling a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.3 seconds and a top speed of 261 mph. These figures place the Mistral among the fastest open-top cars ever built.
Despite its capabilities, examples like this suggest many owners view the Mistral less as a driving experience and more as a long-term investment, with minimal use preserving its value for future resale.
