A 1939 Ford Deluxe that pairs prewar Ford lines with a supercharged modern V8 is for sale at the Vicari Auctions Biloxi Fall 2026 sale, where it is cataloged as Lot S931. The auction listing describes a black-over-silver sedan built to be driven rather than trailered, and the build sheet backs that up.

The bodywork is where the car shows its discipline. The four-door shell wears black over silver, and the doors have been smoothed and fitted with poppers so nothing breaks up the flanks. Power side mirrors and LED taillights bring the car up to date without shouting about it. Vicari’s lot gallery runs to 21 photographs covering the exterior, interior and engine bay.

Under the hood sits an LS1-based 346-cubic-inch V8 crowned with a Whipple twin-screw supercharger, a combination known for building boost right off idle rather than waiting for revs. A Lokar-shifted two-speed Powerglide automatic handles the gear changes, a deliberately simple pairing that suits a torque-rich supercharged small-block. The full powertrain rundown is on the lot description.

Underneath, the car rides on a complete full box frame with rack-and-pinion steering, so it should track and turn in a way no 1939 chassis ever could. Stopping power comes from Baer slotted and cross-drilled disc brakes at the corners, which is the right answer for a car with this much boost on tap. The chassis work is itemized alongside the rest of the build on the Vicari lot page.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed in black ostrich and leather, with Vintage Air climate control and power windows making it genuinely usable on a Gulf Coast afternoon. Dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers supplies the soundtrack. Interior photographs are included in the listing for Lot S931.

Four-door prewar Fords have long been the affordable way into the hobby, and a build of this scope on a Deluxe sedan is uncommon, which is part of the appeal here: the presence of a full custom without the price of a chopped coupe. The car is listed under VIN 547274541. Vicari notes that lot information is supplied by the consignor and is not verified by the auction house, so a personal inspection before the sale is worth the trip. Bidder registration and the complete lot details are on the Vicari Auctions lot page.
