A rare 2006 Ford GT showing just 235 miles is being offered in a new charity sweepstakes, giving participants a chance to take home one of Ford’s most celebrated modern performance cars—or choose $250,000 in cash instead. The single-owner GT is one of only 190 examples produced in Midnight Blue with painted white stripes for the 2006 model year.
The car draws its lineage directly from Ford’s GT40 racing program of the 1960s, and its design incorporates an extruded-aluminum space frame, aluminum body panels, and roll-bonded floors. Under the rear clamshell sits a supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V8, factory rated at 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, paired with a Ricardo six-speed manual transaxle and helical limited-slip differential. The setup delivers the kind of mechanical, analog character that helped solidify the GT’s place among early-2000s supercars.
This example was optioned with forged BBS lightweight aluminum wheels, red Brembo four-piston calipers, and a McIntosh stereo system—one of the more desirable audio choices available when new. Additional features include HID headlights, a vented hood, the signature dual center-exit exhaust, a front splitter, rear diffuser, and air conditioning. Its Sparco seats use carbon-fiber shells and GT40-style ventilation grommets.
The exterior presents in Midnight Blue with full-length painted white stripes and Ford GT graphics on the lower body sides. The specification mirrors Ford’s emphasis on linking the car visually and mechanically to its 1960s predecessors while offering modern materials and engineering.
