Confusion Over Lamborghini Spotting Ends With the Answer on the License Plate

A car enthusiast in Australia unintentionally sparked a wave of humor online after asking a Facebook group to help identify a Lamborghini he photographed, despite the answer appearing directly on the vehicle’s license plate. The post, shared in the “Exotic Car Spotting Australia” group, showed the bright supercar along with a caption asking what model it might be. While the question may have been posed jokingly, many noticed the plate offered a very clear clue.

The vehicle was a Lamborghini Revuelto, the automaker’s first plug-in hybrid supercar and a relatively rare sight on public roads. When compared with reference images, the styling cues aligned with the Revuelto’s sharp, wedge-like profile and distinctive lighting elements. The model has quickly become recognizable among enthusiasts due to its significance as the newest chapter in Lamborghini’s V12 lineup.

Comments quickly piled in, many adding to the playful tone of the original post. Because the plate read “RVELT-0,” several users pointed out that the model name was effectively spelled out for anyone looking closely. Others leaned into the joke, tossing out obviously incorrect guesses. One commenter claimed it resembled a Datsun 120Y, while another dubbed it a “Lamborghini Cantaffordardo,” referencing its steep price.

The Revuelto carries an estimated starting cost of around $600,000 in the United States, placing it firmly in the upper tier of modern supercars. Its performance matches the price tag. Power comes from a 6.5-liter V12 producing 814 horsepower and 535 pound-feet of torque, paired with an electric motor that adds another 187 horsepower and 248 pound-feet. Combined output reaches 1,001 horsepower and 783 pound-feet, solidifying the Revuelto as one of the most powerful production models in Lamborghini’s history.

Despite the remarkable engineering behind the car, the online moment served as a reminder that even the most advanced supercars can cause confusion—especially when the answer is hiding in plain sight.
