RestoMods brings back its 1970 HEMI Charger RestoMod as giveaway No. 33 after the original winner selected a cash alternative.
RestoMods has officially launched its 33rd giveaway, bringing back a fully restored and modernized 1970 HEMI Dodge Charger after the previous winner opted for a cash alternative. The Charger, originally known as RM30 and first finished in Viper Red, now returns as RM33 following a comprehensive refresh and repaint, giving the community another opportunity to win the iconic Mopar.
The decision came after Derrick Jones of Cedar Hill, Texas, was announced as RestoMods’ 30th winner. Jones was flown to San Diego with his wife, where he was presented with the keys and an alternative choice. In a first for the company, the winner selected the cash option, a moment documented in We Shocked our 30th Winner with this IMPOSSIBLE Decision. That decision allowed RestoMods to reclaim the Charger and reintroduce it as a new giveaway entry.

Following its return, the Charger was refinished in Tuxedo Black and further refined to reflect RestoMods’ latest build standards. The result is a ground-up restored 1970 Charger powered by a BluePrint Engines 426-cubic-inch Gen 3 HEMI producing approximately 650 horsepower. Power is sent through a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission, reinforcing the car’s focus on driver engagement while blending modern reliability with classic muscle car character.
The RM33 build incorporates QA1 suspension components, Wilwood braking hardware with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, and a Holley Terminator X-Max EFI system. Additional mechanical upgrades include a MagnaFlow stainless steel exhaust with an X-pipe, rack-and-pinion steering, reinforced chassis bracing, and a custom front cradle with coilovers.
Visually, the Charger rides on American Racing Groove wheels wrapped in Falken RT660 performance tires, complemented by new chrome, trim, glass, and LED lighting. Inside, the cabin has been modernized with Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air climate control, Sparco GT bucket seats, a Hurst pistol-grip shifter, and a Flaming River tilt steering column.
RestoMods detailed the full configuration in The 1970 HEMI 426ci Dodge Charger RestoMod Build Sheet – It’s BACK!, highlighting how the build blends 1970s design with modern performance and safety upgrades.
The RM33 giveaway includes not only the Charger but also $50,000 in cash and a $10,000 donation made in the winner’s name to the Honor Foundation. Entries are currently open through RestoMods, where participants can also learn more about the company’s philosophy and builds through What is a RestoMod? See the video of the build here.
