Headed to Mecum Nashville 2026, Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage Collection brings together a wildly varied lineup of American muscle, resto-mods, trucks, and classic cruisers. The collection spans everything from vintage pickups and winged Mopar aero cars to modern supercars, reflecting a builder’s eye for both nostalgia and performance.
One of the standout entries is the 1972 Chevrolet Custom Camper, a SEMA-built showpiece constructed by River City Rods. It rides on an air-ride chassis and is powered by a 6.2L LS3 V-8 with Holley fuel injection, paired to a 4L70E automatic. Inside, the camper trades typical RV fittings for reclaimed wood, vintage collectibles, and a home-theater-style setup complete with a 55-inch TV and a four-amplifier Hertz sound system, all wired to a 3,500-watt generator.
The collection also leans hard into Mopar aero-warrior history with a pair of 1969 Dodge Daytonas, the winged, nose-coned cousins of the famed Plymouth Superbird. Built for NASCAR homologation, only 503 Daytonas were produced, and the two examples here carry period-correct 440-cubic-inch V-8 power paired with automatic transmissions, giving buyers a rare shot at owning one of the most recognizable aero cars of the muscle car era.
Also crossing the block from the collection is a 2013 Dodge Viper GTS with just over 7,000 miles on the odometer. It’s powered by an 8.4L/640 HP V-10 backed by a Tremec six-speed manual, finished in Viper White with Gunmetal racing stripes and a double-bubble roof, and fitted with upgraded Forgeline wheels and Stoptech brakes.
Adding a dose of factory history, a 1964 Plymouth Barracuda Landau Prototype rounds out the collection’s rarer offerings. The car was reportedly provided by Chrysler designers to explore a potential convertible version of the new Barracuda line, giving it genuine styling-studio significance beyond the usual restomod builds. It’s set to cross the block at no reserve, alongside a handful of other no-reserve lots sprinkled throughout the collection.
These lots are part of the broader Mecum Nashville 2026 sale, taking place September 22–26 at Nashville Superspeedway. The event will feature more than 1,750 vehicles along with numerous Road Art lots, and it’s headlined by the Roush Collection, much of which will cross the block at no reserve. Held at the new Nashville Superspeedway venue, the sale marks Mecum’s first visit to the property and is shaping up to be one of the largest stops on its 2026 calendar, with everything from budget-friendly project cars to seven-figure show cars expected to cross the auction block over the five-day run.
