Two highly desirable Dodge Challenger convertibles are set to cross the block at Mecum’s Harrisburg 2025 auction on Saturday, July 26, offering collectors a rare opportunity to bid on prime examples of Mopar muscle.
1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible – Lot S217

This rotisserie-restored Challenger combines meticulous craftsmanship with upgraded performance. Originally a 383-powered car, it now features a rebuilt, period-correct 440-cubic-inch V-8 with a Six Pack carburetor setup. The powerplant is paired with a four-speed manual transmission operated by the classic Pistol Grip shifter.
Finished in deep black paint applied by Bruce Harvey of ProComp Custom, a multiple-time Ridler Award-winning builder, the car retains an original-style black interior, Rallye wheels, and Goodyear Polyglas GT tires. Highlights include power steering, power brakes, bucket seats, and a restored convertible top. The car comes from a private collection and has been carefully maintained to show-quality standards.
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible – Lot S134

The second Challenger is a factory R/T convertible finished in striking Plum Crazy Purple with a white interior. Originally equipped with a 383 big block, it now carries a legendary 426-cubic-inch Hemi V-8 mated to an upgraded five-speed manual transmission. A Hurst Pistol Grip shifter, power brakes, and Rallye wheels reinforce its performance pedigree, while features like a power top, high-back bucket seats, and rear Bumble Bee stripe maintain its classic appeal.
Additional details include hood pins, a custom sound system, and a thumbwheel radio with an 8-track player, making it as stylish as it is powerful.
These two convertibles are expected to attract strong attention from bidders looking for show-stopping muscle cars with both originality and performance upgrades. Mecum’s Harrisburg event runs July 24-27, 2025, with these lots scheduled for Saturday.
