Xiaomi Auto has unveiled the prototype of its much-anticipated 2025 SU7 Ultra hypercar, marking the brand’s ambitious entry into the high-performance electric vehicle market. This new model showcases Xiaomi’s cutting-edge HyperEngine V8S powertrain and aims to compete with the best in the hypercar world.
The SU7 Ultra is equipped with an advanced triple-motor EV powertrain that combines two V8S e-motors with a single V6S motor. This setup delivers a staggering 1,139 kW (1,523 hp), surpassing the Bugatti Chiron’s 1,103 kW but falling short of the forthcoming 1,342 kW Tourbillon. The hypercar’s impressive performance metrics include a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 1.97 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 5.97 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.
At the heart of the SU7 Ultra’s powertrain is Xiaomi’s HyperEngine V8S e-motor, which can produce up to 425 kW and 635 Nm of torque while reaching an astonishing 27,200 rpm. The vehicle is powered by CATL’s Qilin 2.0 battery, designed for high-performance applications. This battery, with its lithium iron phosphate chemistry, offers rapid charging capabilities, reaching 80% charge in just 12 minutes.
The SU7 Ultra’s performance is supported by high-end components, including AP Racing brakes with six-piston calipers at both ends, designed to withstand temperatures up to 800 degrees Celsius. It also features a sophisticated brake energy recovery system that provides up to 0.6 g of braking force and can achieve 100-0 km/h in just 25 meters.
With a weight of 1,900 kg, the SU7 Ultra incorporates a carbon-fiber body and aerodynamic enhancements such as a massive rear wing, substantial front splitter, and oversized diffuser, generating a remarkable 2,145 kg of downforce. Xiaomi Auto plans to test the SU7 Ultra on Germany’s Nürburgring to challenge current lap records for electric sedans, including those set by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, Rimac Nevera, and Volkswagen ID.R.
