A custom-built 1964 replica roadster is set to enter the spotlight at an upcoming Annual Big Boy Toy Auction, with bidding scheduled to begin May 1, 2026. Listed in a Friday session dedicated to classic and collector vehicles, the car opens with a starting bid of just $5, drawing early attention despite currently holding no bids.
The roadster, recreated by Shell Valley Companies, blends vintage-inspired styling with modern performance components. Finished in a bright orange exterior, the vehicle reflects a design rooted in classic American roadsters while incorporating updated engineering throughout.

Power comes from a 383 cubic-inch small-block Chevrolet V8 engine, paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. The drivetrain is supported by a Ford 9-inch rear end, a setup commonly associated with durability and performance. Additional mechanical enhancements include headers connected to dual side pipes, contributing to both the vehicle’s performance and its aggressive visual presence.

The chassis and suspension have been significantly upgraded compared to period-correct designs. Features include coilover suspension, tubular control arms, and rack-and-pinion steering, all aimed at improving handling and responsiveness. Braking is handled by a four-wheel disc system, providing more modern stopping capability than traditional drum setups.
The car rides on aluminum alloy five-spoke wheels fitted with Cooper tires sized at P235/60R15. Cooling is managed by an aluminum radiator, while an explosion-proo bellhousing adds an extra layer of durability to the drivetrain.

The odometer reads 760 miles, though it is noted that the reading exceeds mechanical limits, leaving total mileage unclear. The vehicle is currently listed as pending consignment and has not yet been received by the auction.
As interest builds ahead of the sale, the combination of classic aesthetics and upgraded performance components positions this replica roadster as a potential standout among collectors seeking a modernized take on a vintage driving experience. See it here.
