Custom 1968 Ford Bronco With V8 Power Heads to Auction With No Reserve

A heavily modified 1968 Ford Bronco is drawing attention as it heads to auction in Arizona with no reserve, offering a blend of vintage design and modern upgrades. The vehicle, currently bid to $18,000 with two days remaining, underwent a comprehensive overhaul prior to its acquisition by the current owner in 2020.

The Bronco’s exterior features a distinctive satin black finish applied across the body as well as key components including the bumpers, grille, roll bar, and trim. The build incorporates a removable soft top with snap-on windows, along with design elements such as a hood scoop, front brush guard, aftermarket lighting, and dual side mirrors. The uniform color scheme and updated styling give the classic off-road vehicle a more contemporary presence.

Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a 302 cubic-inch V8 engine assembled by Ford Performance and installed in 2020. The engine is paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range Dana 20 transfer case, allowing power to be distributed to either the rear wheels or all four wheels. Mechanical updates include a repainted frame and drivetrain components, along with a custom fuel tank. An oil change was recently completed in preparation for the sale.

The suspension has been upgraded with Bilstein shocks, polyurethane bushings, and a steering stabilizer. The vehicle rides on 15-inch matte-black wheels fitted with Goodyear Wrangler Authority tires, while braking is managed by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.

Inside, the cabin combines utility with comfort. Heated Corbeau front seats and a Baja-style rear bench are upholstered in black materials, while bedliner-coated floors add durability. Additional features include air conditioning, a locking center console, and an Alpine Bluetooth audio system paired with upgraded speakers and a subwoofer.

The odometer shows 21,000 miles, though total mileage remains unknown. The vehicle is offered on dealer consignment with a clean California title. See it here.
