A 1969 Datsun Fairlady Z432 is for sale from GAA Classic Cars, which is offering the orange, right-hand-drive Japanese sports car as Lot ST0096 at its November 2026 auction in Greensboro, North Carolina. One of only 420 Z432s produced between 1969 and 1973 and one of just 299 built in 1969 and 1970, this matching-numbers example has been restored twice and earned Best of Show at the 2021 ZCON in Nashville. For collectors who follow the rise of Japanese performance classics, this listing is the kind of car that rarely appears at auction.

The Z432 name is a compact description of what sits under the long hood. The “4” stands for four valves per cylinder, the “3” for three carburetors and the “2” for two camshafts, a formula that set it far apart from the standard Z-car. As the GAA Classic Cars listing notes, the model was almost double the price of the base Z when new, a reminder that this was always the halo car of the Fairlady lineup.

The engine has real racing pedigree. Nissan sourced the S20 from Prince, which used it in the C10 Skyline GT-R and in the R380 race car, and this Z432 carries its original matching-numbers 1989cc, 160-horsepower inline six. It is a rare chance to own a road car powered by an engine with direct links to Japan’s most celebrated competition machinery of the era.

Those three Mikuni-Solex carburetors feed a close-ratio five-speed manual transmission, and power reaches the road through an R192 limited-slip differential. Power front disc brakes give the Z432 stopping ability to match its character, making this a car that was engineered to be driven rather than simply admired.

Inside, the Z432 is a study in period-correct purpose. Black upholstery frames a wood-rimmed steering wheel and matching wood shift knob, while the signature triple dash gauges keep everything the driver needs in view. The right-hand-drive layout underlines the car’s Japanese-market heritage, a detail serious Z enthusiasts prize.

Outside, the orange paint is set off by magnesium Watanabe wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza Re-01 tires, fender-mounted mirrors and a rear spoiler. Few classic sports cars look this right in this color, and the Z432 on offer wears the details with confidence.

The history is as appealing as the specification. The Fairlady Z432 has been restored twice, once in Japan and once in London, and its Best of Show win at the Nashville ZCON in 2021 speaks to the quality of the work. Documented restorations and show recognition give a prospective buyer confidence that this is a car that has been appreciated, not just stored.

Rarity ties it all together. Very few Z432s have been imported to the United States, which makes this 1969 example an uncommon opportunity for American collectors who want the most desirable of the early Z-cars without crossing an ocean to find one. With its engine pedigree, matching numbers and show-winning restoration, it is a standout among the Japanese classics crossing the block this season.
