Rolls-Royce Creates Bespoke Spectre to Honor a Beloved Family Dog

Rolls-Royce has taken personalization to a heartfelt new level with a one-of-a-kind Spectre created in honor of a client’s beloved dog, Bailey. The luxury automaker revealed that the fully bespoke electric coupe was designed through its Private Office in New York, where clients collaborate directly with Rolls-Royce designers to create vehicles that reflect their personal stories.

Bailey, a Labrador-Golden Retriever mix, inspired every aspect of the special commission. His likeness appears in an intricate wood inlay across the rear seats, a piece that took more than four months to complete. The portrait includes over 180 individual pieces of veneer—four of them dedicated solely to capturing the dog’s tongue.

The car’s exterior also pays tribute to Bailey. It wears a two-tone finish of Crystal over Beautiful Bailey, a color combination inspired by the golden tones of his fur. His paw prints appear subtly on the door sills and exterior detailing, adding a personal touch to the electric grand tourer.

The unnamed owners, described only as U.S.-based car and animal enthusiasts, said they wanted to create something that would honor Bailey for years to come. “We are lifelong car enthusiasts and animal lovers,” they said in a statement. “The Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective surprised us at every turn—the inlay, the paw prints—each detail made the experience unforgettable.”

Powered by dual electric motors producing 577 horsepower, the Spectre marks Rolls-Royce’s first fully electric model, capable of traveling up to 329 miles on a charge. While the automaker didn’t reveal the final cost, the base Spectre starts around $400,000, making this tribute to man’s best friend one of the most exclusive builds to date.

Phil Fabre de la Grange, head of bespoke at Rolls-Royce, called the project “a charming commission that reaffirms that inspiration can come from anywhere.”
