1967 Corvette Convertible Restomod: A Fresh-Built Take on an Icon

Some restomods try to walk the line between nostalgia and performance. This one doesn’t bother with half-measures. Finished in Silver Pearl over a red leather interior, this 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has been rebuilt from the ground up with all-new components, modern performance hardware, and a level of detail that makes it feel factory-fresh despite its classic silhouette. The odometer reads just 15 miles, and the build was completed in August 2024, making it essentially a brand-new car wearing one of the most recognizable shapes in Corvette history.

Power comes from a 495-horsepower LS3 V-8 with a GM Hot Cam, paired with a 4L60E four-speed automatic with overdrive. It’s a combination known for reliability and smooth, modern drivability. A Dana 44 rear axle, custom intake manifold, and side-exit exhaust complete the drivetrain, giving the car the sound and punch expected from a properly executed restomod.

Underneath, the transformation is even more dramatic. A Coffman Corvette chassis with C7 suspension brings the car decades forward in handling and ride quality. Wilwood brakes, a Wilwood master cylinder, and chrome C7 Z06–style wheels underline the performance intent. Everything beneath the body is fresh, clean, and built for modern use rather than museum display.

Inside, the red leather cabin stays faithful to the spirit of a ’67 Corvette but updates nearly every functional element. Vintage Air, Dakota Digital gauges, a factory-look modern radio, and Detroit Speed electric headlight and wiper motors ensure the car feels contemporary without losing its period charm. Headrest seats, a black soft top, and clean finishing details help tie the build together.

What separates this one from many mid-year Corvette restomods is its completeness. It wasn’t pieced together over decades or updated in stages — it was built as a unified project, with every system new, matched, and installed with purpose. The result is a Corvette that doesn’t just look the part; it delivers modern capability with classic style.

For anyone wanting a 1967 Corvette they can actually enjoy on the road — without carburetor quirks, manual headlight struggles, or 57-year-old suspension — this restomod hits the mark. It’s the classic you remember, paired with the performance you expect today.
