Ferrari, the iconic luxury sports car manufacturer, has announced two innovative battery replacement schemes aimed at preserving the performance and value of its hybrid vehicles. This strategic move highlights Ferrari’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of excellence for its electrified cars over time.
The newly introduced Warranty Extension Hybrid and Power Hybrid programs allow Ferrari hybrid owners to replace their high-voltage battery packs (HVB) at the eighth and 16th years of their vehicle’s life. This proactive approach addresses the natural degradation of battery efficiency, which is crucial for the long-term value of electric and hybrid vehicles.
Ferrari already provides a five-year warranty on hybrid powertrain components. The new programs, which can be transferred to subsequent owners, are designed to ensure that hybrid Ferraris continue to perform at their peak.
“In case of future developments in battery technology, the replacement HVB will be a new, state-of-the-art component that will ensure the same performance as the original one,” Ferrari stated. This commitment ensures that even as battery technology evolves, the cars will retain their high performance.
Additionally, the programs offer options for extended factory warranties covering the entire vehicle and major powertrain components. These packages, renewable for two to four years, cost around 7,000 euros ($7,530) annually. The schemes will also be applicable to Ferrari’s upcoming all-electric model, scheduled for release next year.
Since 2019, Ferrari has embraced hybrid-electric technology in its models, including the SF90 Stradale and the 296 GTB and 296 GTS. The company is set to launch its first fully electric vehicle by the end of 2025.
With these new programs, Ferrari reaffirms its commitment to innovation and excellence, providing hybrid car owners with the assurance that their vehicles will maintain top performance and value over time.
