The collector car calendar rarely stays quiet for long after Monterey, and the week of September 17–21, 2026 proves it. Five live sales spread across Indiana, New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania and the Sussex countryside will move everything from a matching-numbers Gullwing to three generations of pre-war Ford project metal — and Saturday the 19th alone carries four of them. Here is what is crossing the block, where, and which lots are worth setting an alarm for.
Wolfe’s Collector Car & Memorabilia Sale — Evansville, Indiana | Sept. 17–19
The week opens in southern Indiana, where Wolfe’s Collector Car & Memorabilia Sale runs three days at 2229 S. Kentucky Ave. Memorabilia leads off Thursday evening at 5 p.m., with collector cars crossing the block Friday at 10:30 a.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
Muscle is the through-line here: a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner, a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 and a 1970 Dodge Challenger head an inventory pitched squarely at Midwestern buyers rather than trophy-hunters. Saratoga Motorcar Auction — Saratoga Springs, New York | Sept. 18–19
The Saratoga Motorcar Auction hits its 10th anniversary this year, and it remains the rare sale where the hammer money does double duty — proceeds benefit the Saratoga Automobile Museum’s education, distracted-driving and exhibition programs. The two-day docket is the largest of the week by lot count: 227 lots Friday and 235 Saturday, 462 in all, held at the Saratoga Casino Hotel.
The headline car is a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, backed by a 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello, a 2021 Dodge Challenger 1320 Angry Bee and a deep run of Corvettes across multiple generations. A sizable automobilia section — vintage service station signage and gas pumps — fills out both days. Bonhams | Goodwood Revival Sale — Chichester, England | Sept. 19
The week’s blue-chip sale is Bonhams’ Goodwood Revival: Collectors’ Motor Cars and Automobilia, staged Saturday inside the Revival’s period-dress time capsule at Goodwood Motor Circuit. It is the only sale of the week where six-figure estimates are routine, and the catalog leans hard on British metal and competition provenance.
- 1962 Aston Martin DB4 SS Vantage Convertible (DB4C/1072/R) — £700,000–£900,000, one of just 70 DB4 Convertibles built and the sale’s top lot
- 1936 Aston Martin 2-Litre Speed Model (L6/713/U) — £500,000–£600,000, formerly owned by Nick Mason, with a 1948 Spa 24 Hours entry on its record
- Nissan P35 Group C (P35-02) — £400,000–£500,000, a never-raced survivor of Nissan’s cancelled Group C program
- Jordan-Ford 191 (191/3) — £350,000–£525,000, the Andrea de Cesaris chassis that scored Jordan’s first Formula 1 points
- 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS (06628) — £300,000–£350,000, right-hand drive with 87,743 miles and long-term professional storage
- 2000 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM (RS00-001) — £220,000–£280,000, a factory HWA development car
The DB4 SS Vantage Convertible is the lot to watch for market signal. Open, Vantage-spec DB4s trade thinly enough that a single result resets the conversation, and a strong number here would push back against the softness we flagged in our September 14 market brief.
The Born Family Estate Collection — Eaton, Colorado | Sept. 19
If Goodwood is the week’s champagne, VanDerBrink’s Born Family Estate Collection is its barn. Roughly 300 vehicles — plus signs, gas pumps, oil cans and parts — sell Saturday at 9 a.m. at 20801 County Road 78 in Eaton, north of Greeley, with a Friday preview from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The backstory is the draw. The collection traces four generations, starting with a service station in Gonvick, Minnesota that grew into a restoration shop, and expanding under Doug Born into Rocky Mountain Relics in Greeley — a pre-war parts and project pipeline that shipped worldwide. Doug’s death in 2024 led the family to release a large share of what the Borns had gathered.
Inventory runs from a 1912 Ford Model T through 1929–1941 Fords, shoebox-era 1949–1950 cars, 1931-onward Chevrolets, and Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, DeSoto, Willys, Packard, International, Pontiac, Buick and Oldsmobile examples, down to 1980s and 1990s work pickups. Carscoops reports some lots carry opening bids as low as 50 cents. Bidding is live on-site or online through Proxibid, with an 8% buyer’s premium on-site and 10% online — a spread worth doing the math on before you bid from the couch. Crowe Fall Collector Car & Motorsports Auction — Lebanon, Pennsylvania | Sept. 19
Hess Auction Group’s Fall 2026 Crowe Collector Car Auction takes the Lebanon Expo Center at 80 Rocherty Road on Saturday at 9 a.m., following a Friday preview. It is the smallest docket of the week at roughly 70 vehicles and memorabilia lots, and the most modern in flavor.
A 2021 Lamborghini Huracán STO and a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 anchor the late-model end, with 1955 and 1957 Thunderbirds, a 427 Cobra replica, a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette, assorted Oldsmobiles and Chevrolets, and several Harley-Davidsons filling out the run. Bidding is available in the room and online.
Also On The Radar
Online sales continue to run underneath the live calendar. RM Sotheby’s Sealed September is open through its September 30 close, so lots from that sale will be live throughout this week even though nothing drops the hammer there until month’s end.
One calendar note worth flagging: several auction listings have circulated a September 20–21 date at New York’s Javits Center for Gooding Christie’s Rétromobile New York. That sale is actually set for November 20–21, 2026, and it is worth the wait — Steve McQueen’s 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4*S NART Spider, chassis 10453, makes its public auction debut there against a $15 million to $20 million estimate.
What We’re Watching
The week is a clean split-screen of the current market. Goodwood tests the top: a documented, one-of-70 Aston convertible and a pair of competition cars with real history, priced where buyers have lately demanded certainty before they commit. Eaton tests the bottom: 300 lots of unrestored project metal and shop inventory going out at whatever the room will pay, in a segment where cheap entry points have been drawing crowds all year. The Saratoga Gullwing sits in between, and its result may be the most useful single number of the week.
