Don Henley Automobile Collection & Vintage Motorcycles Heads to Aumann Auctions

More than 90 years of American motoring history is heading to the block this fall as Aumann Auctions presents the Don Henley Automobile Collection & Vintage Motorcycles. The online-only sale closes on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. CST and brings together 25 machines, from a brass-era Ford Model T to a 1939 Cadillac V16, a 1936 Auburn Boat Tail Speedster and a lineup of legendary Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles.

The sale is hosted by Aumann Auctions of Nokomis, Illinois, a family company that has been running auctions since 1962. Bidding is online only, and the machines are located at 20114 Illinois Route 16 in Nokomis, with buyers responsible for hauling. Early Fords That Set the Tone

Lots 1 through 12 come from Don Henley’s own collection, and the Fords are the heart of it. The oldest is a 1914 Ford Model T Touring, a true brass-era car that shows how Henry Ford put America on wheels. Award-Winning 1947 Ford Super Deluxes

The standout Fords are a pair of 1947 Super Deluxes. The 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Sportsman holds the Dearborn Award from the Early Ford V-8 Club of America along with multiple AACA awards, while the 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Woody Wagon is a multi-year AACA winner. Classic Era Stars: Auburn, Cord, Cadillac and LaSalle

Lots 13 through 19 come from a fellow collector, and they bring some of the most important names of the Classic Era. The 1936 Auburn Boat Tail Speedster is the showpiece, with its long hood, external exhaust pipes and tapered tail. It is joined by a 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged, one of the most advanced American cars of its day. Both are part of the Aumann fall offering.

Cadillac luxury is well represented too. The lineup includes a 1932 Cadillac V-16 Fleetwood, a 1937 Cadillac Series 60 and a 1939 Cadillac Fleetwood V16 Series 90 from the final years of Cadillac’s V16 era. 1950s and 1960s Style

The postwar cars are just as eye-catching. A 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz leads the group with its sweeping fins and chrome, followed by a sleek 1951 Mercury Eight and an iconic 1957 Ford Thunderbird with its white removable hardtop. All three are pictured in the auction photo gallery.

Two-Wheeled American Legends

The motorcycles are a highlight of their own. A 1947 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead leads the group, joined by a 1938 Harley-Davidson Caterpillar tribute, a 1941 Indian Four with Sidecar and a 1938 Ford Flathead Olson Custom V8 Trike. Don Henley is also offering an original 1949 Powell P-81, an original 1951 Whizzer Sportsman and a 1957 Forall Scooter, a piece of Springfield, Illinois history, all recognized by the AACA and HPOF.
