2020 McLaren Senna GTR Hits the Market on Bring a Trailer

A 2020 McLaren Senna GTR, one of only 75 built, has surfaced on Bring a Trailer, giving collectors a rare chance to acquire one of the most extreme track cars McLaren has ever produced. This example, chassis #73, is finished in MSO Solar Yellow with a custom livery inspired by Ayrton Senna’s helmet design and shows just 543 miles on the odometer.

Unveiled in 2018, the track-only GTR was billed by McLaren as the fastest car outside of its Formula 1 program. Built on the MonoCage III carbon-fiber chassis, the Senna GTR weighs 2,619 pounds, making it lighter and wider than its road-legal counterpart. With an advanced aerodynamic package, including an active rear wing and revised splitters, the car is capable of generating over 2,200 pounds of downforce at 155 mph.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, rated at 814 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque in standard GTR form. This example also comes with a factory-allocated Senna GTR LM engine, held at McLaren’s UK headquarters, featuring upgraded internals and producing 833 horsepower with a raised 9,000-rpm limit. Power is routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels.

Inside, the stripped-down cockpit is focused on motorsport use, with carbon-fiber racing seats, six-point harnesses, a roll cage, fire-suppression system, and pit-to-car radio. Touring-size seats and air conditioning add a small measure of comfort.

Originally delivered to McLaren Beverly Hills, this Senna GTR carried a sticker price of nearly $1.8 million. Offered with its build sheet, bespoke MSO features, and racing equipment, the car presents itself as both a collector’s centerpiece and a fully capable track weapon.
