Each January, Mecum’s Kissimmee auction transforms Florida into the center of the automotive universe. For 2026, one standout collection will blend racing heritage and modern muscle in spectacular fashion. Three remarkable machines—the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, 1965 Ford GT40 MkI, and 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170—are among the featured attractions, each representing a defining chapter of performance history.
1962 Ferrari 250 GTO “Bianco Speciale” (Lot R834)

A legend among legends, this Ferrari 250 GTO, chassis 3729GT, is the only example finished in Bianco by Ferrari. Originally owned by British privateer John Coombs, this car’s racing resume reads like a golden-age time capsule. Driven by icons including Graham Hill, Jack Sears, and Mike Parkes, it secured victories and podiums across Europe—including second place at the 1962 RAC Tourist Trophy and a class win at the 1963 Guards Trophy. Later owned by Jack Sears and collector Jon Shirley, the car retains its authentic racing details and Ferrari Classiche Red Book certification. Few machines embody the essence of 1960s endurance racing like this GTO.
1965 Ford GT40 MkI Coupe (Lot R721)

From Italy to America’s answer: this Ford GT40 MkI, chassis P/1018, stands among the most significant GT40s in existence. Delivered new to Shelby American, it was used for promotional purposes and even driven by Carroll Shelby himself—one of only two GT40s ever to carry that distinction. Powered by a 289 CI V8 with a ZF 5-speed transaxle, this car starred at auto shows, appeared in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and later raced at Goodwood and Le Mans Classic events. Recently refinished in its original Maroon, it’s accompanied by extensive documentation from GT40 historian Ronnie Spain.
2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 (Lot R870)

Fast-forward to modern-day muscle, and Dodge’s final Challenger sends the combustion era off in a blaze of supercharged glory. This Cream Sickle-finished Demon 170—once part of the Kevin Hart Collection—is one-of-one, boasting just 20 miles and packing 1,025 horsepower from its 6.2L supercharged Hemi V8. It includes the full factory package: carbon-fiber wheels, Demon 170 helmet, custom display items, and original documentation. As Dodge’s ultimate street-legal drag car, it’s a fitting modern counterpoint to the legends that came before it.
These three machines—spanning Ferrari’s artistry, Ford’s determination, and Dodge’s defiance—embody everything that makes Mecum Kissimmee the must-attend event for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
