A Superformance MkIII Cobra replica equipped with a Roush Performance V8 and five-speed manual transmission is attracting bidder interest as it heads toward the close of its online auction in six days.

The black-on-black roadster, currently bid to $55,000, was assembled under previous ownership before being acquired by its current owner in 2024. Built to capture the appearance and spirit of the legendary Shelby Cobra, the MkIII combines vintage-inspired styling with modern engineering and performance components.

Power comes from a Roush Performance 353R V8 paired with a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The engine setup includes a four-barrel Holley carburetor, Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, ceramic-coated long-tube headers, MSD ignition and an aluminum radiator fitted with twin electric cooling fans. Side-exit exhaust pipes complete the aggressive performance-oriented configuration.
The fiberglass body is finished in black and incorporates numerous signature Cobra styling cues, including a hood scoop, fender vents, wind wings, a Le Mans-style fuel filler cap and black quick-jack bumperettes. A polished single roll hoop and bullet-style driver-side mirror further reinforce the car’s classic competition-inspired appearance.

The roadster rides on black-finished 17-inch Halibrand-style wheels with polished lips wrapped in Nitto NT555 tires. The wheels are secured using safety-wired three-eared knock-off spinners. Suspension duties are handled by a fully independent setup featuring adjustable coilovers with Eibach springs, while Wilwood disc brakes provide stopping power at all four corners.
Inside, the cabin features low-back black leather bucket seats, lap harnesses and a leather-wrapped steering wheel positioned ahead of Smiths instrumentation. The dashboard houses a reverse-sweep 180-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer and gauges monitoring oil temperature, coolant temperature, fuel level and oil pressure. Additional equipment includes a cabin heater, T-handle shifter, dash-mounted rearview mirror and fire extinguisher. A Carroll Shelby signature appears on the glovebox door.
The five-digit odometer shows approximately 5,000 miles, with around 100 miles added by the current owner.

Documentation included with the vehicle references a California-issued SB100 label from May 2009, while the Arizona title identifies the vehicle as a 1965 Other Shelby Cobra. The VIN on the title corresponds with the California-issued identification number affixed to the front crossmember.
Also included in the sale are a soft top, tonneau cover and side curtains, adding extra practicality to the high-performance roadster package. See it here.
