Few cars stir the imagination like a white fastback Mustang wearing Eleanor-style bodywork and twin black stripes, and Freije & Freije Auctioneers has a seriously well-sorted one headed across the block. This 1965 Ford Mustang Eleanor Tribute Fastback will be offered during The Fall Big Boy Toy Auction hosted by The Auto Dealers Exchange in its classic and collector car session. It is a no-expense-spared build that blends genuine 1965 Fastback bones with modern performance, drivability and comfort, and it has covered just 2,160 miles since its nut-and-bolt restoration was completed in 2016.

A 508-Horsepower Stroker With the Dyno Sheet to Prove It

Power comes from a 351 Windsor stroked to 418 cubic inches and professionally built by Vails Classic Cars. At 1,953 miles the engine was dyno tested and produced 508 horsepower, a number that puts this Fastback firmly in modern muscle territory. A serpentine belt system and electric fan keep the engine bay clean and the temperatures in check, and a full service has been completed to prepare the car for sale, according to the Freije & Freije lot listing.

That power is sent through a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission to a fabricated 9-inch rear end equipped with a G-Bar suspension system and adjustable shocks. It is the kind of driveline builders choose when they expect a car to be driven hard, and the five-speed makes long highway stints far more relaxed than an original four-speed would. Modern Chassis Under Classic Lines

Underneath, the suspension and chassis have been comprehensively upgraded with a shock tower delete, Mustang II front suspension, a coilover setup, power rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel power disc brakes. Together, those changes transform how an early Mustang steers, stops and rides, giving this Eleanor tribute Fastback the composure to match its looks.

The foundation is just as thorough. The car received extensive metal work, including new frame rails, rockers, quarters, inner and outer fender wells, doors and fenders. The result, as described in the auction listing, is a very solid, well-sorted Fastback that a new owner can enjoy rather than chase problems on.

More Than 2,000 Hours in Bodywork and Paint

The finish is Super Bright white base/clear with Jet black center and side stripes, and every stripe is painted rather than applied as vinyl. More than 2,000 man-hours went into the bodywork and paint alone. A fiberglass Eleanor E2 body kit is fully molded in for a seamless appearance, joined by a fiberglass hood and deck lid that complete the unmistakable look. A Custom Cabin Built for Driving

Inside, the 1965 Mustang Fastback wears a full custom TMI interior, including TMI seats, a one-piece headliner, dash pad, center console and door panels. The cabin looks the part of a classic Mustang while feeling fresh and tight, as you would expect from a build with so few miles on it.

Comfort and convenience upgrades go well beyond the typical restomod. The list includes Vintage Air Generation IV air conditioning, power windows and power locks, keyless entry, aftermarket gauges, a Pioneer touchscreen stereo with a four-speaker audio system, a backup camera and 3-point seat belts. It is a car built to be driven on a summer evening or a long weekend road trip, not just parked at shows. Check out the lot details for the complete equipment rundown.

Why This Eleanor Tribute Deserves a Closer Look

Plenty of Eleanor-inspired Mustangs have been built over the years, but few combine a professionally built 508-horsepower stroker, a fully sorted modern chassis, extensive new metal and more than 2,000 hours of paint and body work in one package. With the odometer reading 2,161, this one is still essentially fresh, which makes it an appealing option for anyone who wants the look and the performance without taking on a multi-year build of their own. Register and place your bid on this Mustang through Freije & Freije Auctioneers.
