Custom 1955 Chevrolet 210 Resto Mod to Highlight April GAA Auction with Extensive Frame-Off Build

A heavily customized 1955 Chevrolet 210 coupe is set to appear at auction in April 2026, showcasing a comprehensive restoration and performance-focused transformation that blends classic design with modern engineering. Listed as Lot ST0115 and scheduled to cross the block on Saturday, the vehicle represents a four-year, ground-up build completed with a full rotisserie, frame-off process.

The restoration, which exceeded $250,000 in cost, involved stripping the car down to its bare structure before rebuilding it with updated components throughout. The result is a reimagined version of the iconic mid-1950s Chevrolet, finished in a red and black exterior that is matched by a custom red and black leather interior.

At the core of the build is a 454 cubic-inch V8 engine, paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Power is sent to a Ford 9-inch rear end equipped with 3.73 gears, offering a combination of acceleration and drivability suited for both street and performance use. Supporting upgrades include power steering and a Wilwood four-wheel disc brake system with drilled and slotted rotors, enhancing control and braking capability.

The vehicle rides on staggered Billet Specialties wheels measuring 18 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear, contributing to its modern stance. Inside, the cabin has been fully reworked with custom leather upholstery, Dolphin gauges, and billet pedals, blending contemporary materials with a classic layout. Additional features such as vintage air conditioning provide increased comfort while maintaining the vehicle’s retro character.

Attention to detail is evident throughout the build, with new nuts and bolts, chrome elements, stainless steel components, and updated glass installed during the restoration process. The extensive work reflects a focus on both aesthetics and performance, creating a vehicle that departs significantly from its original factory form.

As interest in high-quality resto mods continues to grow, this 1955 Chevrolet 210 stands out as a detailed and costly build that merges heritage styling with upgraded mechanical systems, positioning it as a notable entry for collectors and enthusiasts at the upcoming auction. See it here.
