The supercar at the center of the giveaway has traveled just 435 miles since it rolled off the assembly line, and it remains in essentially the same condition it left the factory. Protective films and factory stickers are still in place, a level of preservation rarely seen in a vehicle that is nearly two decades old. The car has had a single owner throughout its life.

It is also a scarce example. The vehicle is one of only 541 produced in Tungsten Grey clearcoat metallic, a finish accented by painted silver stripes and Ford GT graphics running over the top of the body. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in Ebony leather. Collectors have long regarded the model as an investment-grade machine, and this particular car’s low mileage and originality push it further into that category.

Under the bodywork sits a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a helical limited-slip differential. The car came from the factory with a number of desirable options, including forged aluminum BBS wheels, red-painted brake calipers and a McIntosh audio system. Brembo brakes, HID headlights, a front splitter, a rear diffuser and air conditioning round out the equipment list.

The Ford GT draws heavily on the GT40 race cars that competed in the 1960s. Its construction relies on an extruded-aluminum space frame, roll-bonded floors and aluminum body panels. Exterior details include fog lights, side air intakes, a vented hood and a dual center-exit exhaust.

Should the winner keep the car rather than take the cash, they will also receive an additional $25,000 to help cover expenses.
