Listed as Lot S118 and scheduled to sell on Saturday, August 15th, this 2021 example is up for sale on Mecum with only 645 miles on the odometer.
The Elva is McLaren’s modern homage to its open-top racers of the 1960s, and just 149 were ever built. Rather than a windshield, it relies on the brand’s Active Air Management System, channeling oncoming air up and over the cabin so occupants can experience speed with the wind in their hair. This particular build carries a one-off McLaren Special Operations specification, wrapped in deep Napier Green Pearl paint and set off by exposed carbon fiber trim, front and rear diffusers, and matching green brake calipers peeking out from behind the wheels. Inside, carbon fiber racing seats are trimmed in black leather with green accents, and the exposed-carbon steering wheel carries a matching center stripe. Under the rear clamshell sits a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 producing 804 horsepower, paired with an automatic transmission and wrapped in a carbon fiber monocoque that helps hold the car’s dry weight to roughly 2,531 pounds.
