A rare piece of Ford muscle from the late 1960s is set to draw attention when a 1967 Ford Galaxie 500XL 7-Litre hardtop crosses the auction block at the Harrisburg 2026 sale. The full-size two-door is scheduled to sell as Lot S217 on Saturday, July 25th.
What makes this Galaxie stand out is its rarity. It is one of just 813 7-Litre examples Ford produced for the 1967 model year, a low number that places it among the more exclusive full-size performance cars of its era. The 7-Litre badge was Ford’s answer to buyers who wanted big-block power wrapped in a comfortable, well-equipped body.

Under the hood sits a 428-cubic-inch V-8 rated at 345 horsepower and 462 lb-ft of torque. Power reaches the rear wheels through a Toploader four-speed manual transmission, a combination prized by enthusiasts for its durability and its connection to the driving experience of the period.
The car wears a correct Candyapple Red finish topped by a black vinyl roof, a color pairing that was popular when the Galaxie left the factory. Inside, black bucket seats flank a center console, and the cabin retains a factory tachometer along with a teakwood steering wheel that adds a touch of period style.
Additional equipment includes power steering and power brakes, features that made the heavy full-size Ford easier to manage on the road. The car rolls on 15-inch Styled Steel wheels wrapped in Goodyear Redline tires, staying true to the look of the day.
